There’s most definitely some weird hotels out there. Take the photo above for example. It was taken at Caesars Pocono Resorts. That couple is actually sitting in a giant glass embedded between two columns.
If you want to check out some more weird places to stay, Unusual Hotels of the World is a great starting point.

From CNN: “A balmy breeze gently blows across the beach, with the warm, clear water of the Pacific Ocean just a few feet away. It’s a place honeymooners and families go to get away from it all. But these days, things aren’t so perfect in paradise.
High fuel prices have caused airfares to skyrocket. And the economy has caused some Americans to postpone or downsize their travel plans. Fewer tourists are coming to Hawaii, and some think the problems are only beginning.”
It’s a real shame because Hawaii is one must see in a person’s life.

Tynan over at Gadling had this to say:
“I’m a little bit ashamed to say that when I first headed to Bangkok, I didn’t expect much beyond backpacker bars and a ubiquitous haze of sleaze covering everything. Boy, was I wrong. Bangkok is an incredible place to visit, and possibly even to live. I’ve only carved two weeks out to visit this year, but next year I’ll be back for a month or two.”
Tynan goes on to talk about how amazingly cheap some thing are and he points out 3 hidden gems that one must experience while in Bangkok.

Twin bolts of lightning reach for the depths of the Grand Canyon near Point Sublime. This scenic area on the canyon’s North Rim is not as easily accessible as other lookouts. But for those willing to make the two-hour trip by 4WD vehicle, the vistas are among the best the park has to offer.

I know this may not be a “travel” type of article but why not? Dubai is certainly a place one should visit is it not?
CNN reports: “Ambitious plans to build a revolutionary 420-meter shape-shifting skyscraper in Dubai have been unveiled by architects. The 80-story Dynamic Tower, described as the “world’s first building in motion,” will also be the first skyscraper constructed from prefabricated units, according to a press statement released by New York-based architect David Fisher’s Dynamic Group.
Each floor would be capable of rotating independently, powered by wind turbines fitted between each floor.”
Simply amazing. Check out the rest of Dubai.

The folks at Trifter came up with a pretty good list of beaches. While these are obviously debatable, they are more than worthy candidates.
Beaches all over the world never fail to attract large numbers of tourists every time. But more than just tourist destinations, beaches are great getaways-they offer the “great escape” from all the hustle and bustle, exactly what every city-dweller needs.
Check out the top ten beaches in the world.
